This is a public speaking/edutainment experience unlike you’ve seen before! As a fashion historian, I find that people understand the evolution of fashion and the extent to which ladies went to achieve certain looks throughout the Victorian era. I begin in a wrapper-a garment akin to today’s bathrobe or dressing gown-and dress from the foundation garments (corset, hoops, bustle, etc.) all the way to the finishing touches of accessories! It’s a fun and interactive way to learn about a certain element of history that is often overlooked. I’ve extensively studied Victorian etiquette, garment construction, fabric and textile work, social mores and expectations, and the evolution of garments from the colonial period to the 1920’s. I’ve spoken across the country and guest lectured at universities from Texas to Pennsylvania! I am also speaking at The American Battlefield Trust’s National Teachers Conference in Baltimore, Maryland this summer, among many other exciting and prestigious events around the east coast. Our calendar fills up quickly so reach out soon to save your spot!
